Certifying the classical simulation cost of a quantum channel

چکیده

A fundamental objective in quantum information science is to determine the cost classical resources of simulating a particular system. The simulation quantified by signaling dimension which specifies minimum amount communication needed perfectly simulate channel's input-output correlations when unlimited shared randomness held between encoder and decoder. This paper provides collection device-independent tests that place lower upper bounds on channel. Among them, single family shown noisy channel can be simulated using an strictly less than either its input or output alphabet size. In addition, eight witnesses presented completely characterize any four-outcome measurement channel, such as Bell measurement, one bit randomness. Finally, we bound for all partial replacer channels $d$ dimensions. are found tight special case erasure

Zero-Error Classical Channel Capacity and Simulation Cost Assisted by Quantum Non-Signalling Correlations

We study the one-shot zero-error classical capacity of quantum channels assisted by quantum non-signalling correlations, and the reverse problem of simulation. Both lead to simple semi-definite programmings whose solutions can be given in terms of the conditional min-entropies. We show that the asymptotic simulation cost is precisely the conditional min-entropy of the Choi-Jamiołkowski matrix o...

Classical information capacity of a quantum channel.

We consider the transmission of classical information over a quantum channel. The channel is deened by an \alphabet" of quantum states, e.g. certain photon polarizations, together with a speciied set of probabilities with which these states must be sent. The Levitin-Kholevo theorem implies that the amount of information transmitted per \letter" cannot be greater than the von Neumann entropy H o...

Classical simulation of quantum contextuality

Recently, several inequalities involving sequences of measurements have been proposed which hold for non-contextual models but which are violated in quantum mechanics. They also have been found to be violated in experiments and the violation is independent of the prepared quantum state. A typical contextual model explaining this violation uses a classical memory. We investigate the required mem...

Improving Classical Authentication over a Quantum Channel

We propose a quantum protocol to authenticate classical messages that can be used to replace Wegman–Carter’s classical authentication scheme in quantum key distribution (QKD) protocols. We show that the proposed scheme achieves greater conditional entropy of the seed for the intruder given her (quantum) observation than the classical case. The proposed scheme is suitable for situations where th...
